Itinerary
Experience the Peruvian Altiplano at its best with the Uros & Taquile Full-Day Tour, sailing across legendary Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake and the cultural heart of Puno. Start at the Uros Floating Islands, built from reeds (totora) and home to an ancestral community that preserves unique traditions and techniques. Then continue to Taquile Island, famous for its living culture, panoramic views, and textile heritage, with a moderate walk along Andean paths. The day ends with a tourist lunch in Taquile and a relaxed return to Puno—perfect for travelers seeking history, tradition, and unforgettable landscapes in one day.
At 07:00 a.m. we pick you up from your hotel in Puno and transfer to the pier to board a fast motorboat to explore majestic Lake Titicaca. Our first stop is the Uros Floating Islands, about 30 minutes by boat, where you’ll learn about the community’s lifestyle and traditions. For approximately one hour, your guide explains their history, customs, and how the islands and homes are built with totora reeds. You’ll also have time to walk around, take photos, and watch artisan demonstrations. Then we continue sailing to Taquile Island on a journey of around 2 hours. On Taquile, we do an approximately 1-hour walk along moderate, mostly flat trails, visiting local families and learning about their living culture. The visit concludes with a tourist lunch on the island. Between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. we return to Puno and transfer you back to your hotel.
