Your day begins very early with hotel pick-up in Cusco at 4:00 a.m., followed by a transfer to Ollantaytambo to board the Expedition train to Kilometer 104, the starting point of the 1-day Inca Trail. From here, you begin hiking along a historic route that combines cloud-forest scenery with mountain views, first visiting the archaeological site of Chachabamba, an important Inca ceremonial complex. As you continue, the trail climbs through stone stairways and classic Inca pathways, revealing sweeping vistas of the valley and a truly immersive blend of culture and nature, until you reach Wiñay Wayna, one of the most beautiful sites on the trail thanks to its agricultural terraces and privileged setting; here you’ll enjoy a picnic-style lunch.
