Itinerary

This itinerary is built to experience Peru across three worlds—coast, high Andes and Amazon rainforest—in one seamless 15-day journey. You start in Lima with a city tour combining Miraflores and the Historic Center, then head south to Paracas for a boat trip to the Ballestas Islands and relax in the desert oasis of Huacachina, with dune buggies and sandboarding, plus a flavorful stop in Chincha. Next, you fly to Cusco (3,399 m / 11,151 ft) for Inca heritage, the Super Sacred Valley (Chinchero, Moray, Maras) and the bucket-list highlight: Machu Picchu aboard the Vistadome Observatory train. The trip becomes even more unique with Inti Raymi from the Orange VIP Section and high-altitude landscapes at Rainbow Mountain and Humantay Lake. You then travel the historic Sun Route to the Altiplano to discover Puno, Uros and Taquile, and finish in the Amazon with a Tambopata program from Puerto Maldonado featuring Lake Sandoval, a parrot clay lick, canopy, kayaking and wildlife encounters.

15 Days and 14 nights
Local guide: English & Spanish

Upon arrival in Lima, our team welcomes you at the airport and transfers you comfortably to your hotel. This day is ideal to rest after your flight, adjust to the city’s rhythm (Lima is at sea level), and start exploring at your own pace—enjoy your hotel facilities, take a walk nearby, or try local cuisine on your own as you get ready for an itinerary that gradually increases in altitude and excitement.

Between 09:15 and 09:30 a.m., we begin hotel pickups for a tour that blends modern Lima with colonial heritage. We visit the Love Park in Miraflores (Malecón Cisneros near the Villena Bridge), home to Víctor Delfín’s iconic “El Beso” sculpture and colorful mosaics, then continue with a panoramic view of Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca ceremonial site. At 10:00 a.m. we enjoy a panoramic look at San Martín Square and its historic surroundings, and at 11:00 a.m. we enter the San Francisco Monastery and Catacombs to visit the choir area, library, sacristy and crypts. We return to Miraflores around 2:00 p.m., with a complete view of traditional Lima.

Around 08:30 a.m. we arrive at El Chaco port and get ready to start the Ballestas Islands tour on modern boats (speedboat or yacht). We first observe the famous Paracas Candelabra geoglyph carved into the dunes, then continue offshore to spot rich marine wildlife such as sea lions, Humboldt penguins and guano birds (boobies, cormorants and gulls), also visiting La Maternidad, a breeding area for sea lions. Around 10:30 a.m. we return to the port and continue by tourist transport to Ica; at approximately 12:00 p.m. we visit a winery (Nietto or El Catador, depending on availability) for a guided tour, production explanation and tastings of wine, pisco and macerated spirits. At 01:00 p.m. you’ll have free time for lunch in Ica (with local recommendations from the guide), then we transfer to your hotel at the Huacachina Oasis for a free afternoon to relax and enjoy the desert setting (hotel entry depends on the selected property’s check-in time).

After breakfast, you’ll have a free morning to enjoy hotel facilities—such as the pool—or explore Ica on your own. At the coordinated time, we visit the Huacachina Lagoon, also known as the Oasis of the Americas, learning about the site and its legends. At 03:00 p.m. we begin one of the most exciting experiences of the trip: dune buggies across Huacachina’s towering dunes combined with sandboarding, with time for incredible photos. Later, around 06:30 p.m., we continue to Chincha for a local winery tasting and regional products (weekends often include traditional music and dance). Finally, we return to Lima with an estimated arrival around 10:30 p.m..

In the morning, we transfer you from your hotel to the airport for your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, our team welcomes you and escorts you to your hotel to rest and acclimatize (Cusco sits at approximately 3,399 m / 11,151 ft). In the afternoon, enjoy a 4-hour city tour visiting Qoricancha, Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Puca Pucará and Tambomachay, then return to the hotel to rest.

We depart between 06:30 and 07:00 a.m. with hotel pickup to explore the Sacred Valley. At 08:00 a.m. we visit Chinchero, then at 09:30 a.m. continue to Moray, and at 10:45 a.m. explore the Maras Salt Mines with more than 3,000 ponds. Around 12:30 p.m. there’s time for an Andean buffet lunch (at the passenger’s expense). At 02:00 p.m. we visit the Ollantaytambo fortress, then enjoy free time in town before overnighting in Ollantaytambo.

After breakfast and according to your entry time, we pick you up at your hotel in Ollantaytambo and transfer you to the station to board the Vistadome Observatory train to Aguas Calientes. On arrival, staff assist you to the bus station for the ride up to Machu Picchu (about 25 minutes), and you must present your original passport and physical entrance ticket at the control point. Inside the citadel (approx. 2,430 m / 7,972 ft), your guide provides a detailed explanation on the assigned circuit for about 2 hours. After the guided visit, return by bus to Aguas Calientes with free time for lunch on your own, then take the train back to Ollantaytambo and transfer to your hotel in Cusco.

We pick you up between 07:30 and 08:00 a.m. to attend Inti Raymi. The experience begins at Qoricancha with the opening ceremony honoring the Sun God, continues to Cusco’s Main Square for the symbolic handover of the khipu, and culminates at Sacsayhuamán for the main ceremony with offerings to the Sun and Pachamama, enjoyed from the Orange VIP Section for excellent visibility and comfort. After the show, we transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco.

We start very early with pickup at 04:30 a.m. and travel about three hours south through Andean towns such as Oropesa and Andahuaylillas to reach Cusipata for an energizing breakfast. We continue to Phulawasipata (4,600 m / 15,092 ft) to begin a hike of around 1.5 hours across high-Andean scenery with alpacas and Ausangate views to the Vinicunca viewpoint (5,300 m / 17,388 ft), with time for photos (weather can change quickly with wind and cold). We return the same way, enjoy an Andean buffet lunch, and arrive back in Cusco around 5:00 p.m..

We depart with pickup at 04:30 a.m. heading northeast, crossing valleys and Andean villages to Mollepata for breakfast. We continue to Soraypampa (3,900 m / 12,795 ft) and begin a climb of about 2 hours to Humantay Lake (4,200 m / 13,780 ft), famous for its turquoise tones and mountain setting. Enjoy time to explore and take photos, then descend to Soraypampa, have an Andean buffet lunch, and return to Cusco around 6:00 p.m..

We depart Cusco at 06:40 a.m. along the famous Sun Route to Puno. At 07:40 a.m. we stop in Andahuaylillas (often called the Sistine Chapel of the Americas), then reach Raqchi at 10:15 a.m. to visit the Temple of Wiracocha. At 11:35 a.m. we enjoy an Andean buffet lunch in Marangani, stop at La Raya at 02:15 p.m., and visit the Pucará Museum at 03:20 p.m. before arriving in Puno around 05:30 p.m..

We start with pickup in Puno from 06:40 a.m. to reach the port and board a motorboat on Lake Titicaca. We visit the iconic Uros Floating Islands for about 45 minutes with a bilingual guide (Spanish/English), explore the main island and 2 to 3 islands, with an optional traditional reed-boat ride, then continue to Taquile Island and hike about 1 hour to the village. You’ll have around 3 hours to learn local customs, enjoy lake views and share a typical lunch (usually fresh trout), plus free time to appreciate Taquile’s famous textiles. Finally, we head to a floating island to spend the night in a lodge with Lake Titicaca views.

After the magical night by the lake and breakfast, we return to Puno with free time to explore on your own, then travel by bus to the rainforest region of Peru—Puerto Maldonado. On arrival, we pick you up at the terminal and transfer to the river port (Capitanía) for an approximately 15-minute motorboat ride on the Madre de Dios River to our jungle lodge; after settling in, we do a botanical walk to learn about rainforest flora, wildlife and medicinal plants, then after lunch we take a 20-minute boat ride to the Monkey Island to observe different species in their natural habitat. At night, we enjoy a guided night walk with flashlights to spot insects, amphibians and nocturnal wildlife, then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

We set out to visit Lake Sandoval, one of the most emblematic ecosystems in the Peruvian Amazon. We begin with an approximately 10-minute motorboat transfer to the port and then a guided rainforest walk of around 1 hour to reach the lake; once there, we board a canoe for a quiet ride on its calm waters, home to abundant birdlife and wildlife in a stunning natural setting. After the visit we return to the lodge for lunch, and later around 04:00 p.m. we go out again to enjoy the Amazon sunset and look for wildlife such as sloths, capybaras and caimans along the waterways, returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Very early, around 05:00 a.m., we travel from the lodge by boat for about 50 minutes upstream on the Madre de Dios River to the Parrot Clay Lick (La Cachuela), where we watch numerous species gather to lick mineral-rich clay in a colorful, unforgettable display; during the ride it’s also possible to spot sloths along the riverbank vegetation. We return to the lodge for breakfast, then start a kayak activity from the lodge toward the adventure area; after a 5-minute walk, we climb a 20-meter tower to begin the canopy and hanging bridges experience, enjoying the rainforest from the treetops. After the activity we return to the lodge for lunch, repack, and head back to Puerto Maldonado for the final transfer to the airport, bus station or hotel, closing an Amazon journey full of nature, adventure and wildlife.
