Itinerary
This itinerary brings together the essential experiences of Peru’s Andes in one seamless journey: time to acclimatize in Cusco, a cultural deep dive through iconic temples and fortresses, a full-day Super Sacred Valley exploration featuring Chinchero, Moray, Maras Salt Mines and Ollantaytambo, the unforgettable highlight of Machu Picchu with a guided visit, and two signature moments that make this program truly special—Inti Raymi from the Orange VIP Section and an adrenaline-packed Red Valley + Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) ATV adventure. A perfect blend of history, scenery and once-in-a-lifetime culture in the heart of Cusco.
In the morning, we transfer you from your hotel to the airport for your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, our team welcomes you and escorts you to your hotel so you can rest and acclimatize—an important step at Cusco’s altitude (approx. 3,399 m / 11,151 ft). In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a city tour of about 4 hours, visiting the Qoricancha Temple and then heading to the major archaeological sites surrounding the city: the impressive Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Puca Pucará and Tambomachay. It’s an inspiring introduction to Cusco’s Inca legacy and colonial history before returning to the hotel to rest.
We depart between 06:30 a.m. and 07:00 a.m. with hotel pickup to begin your journey through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a region known for living traditions and breathtaking Andean landscapes. At 08:00 a.m. we visit Chinchero, where you’ll see agricultural terraces, the remains of Tupac Inca Yupanqui’s royal estate, a colonial church built over Inca foundations, and a demonstration of traditional Andean textile art. At 09:30 a.m. we continue to Moray, famous for its circular terraces and its importance in Inca agricultural experimentation. At 10:45 a.m. we explore the Maras Salt Mines, with more than 3,000 salt ponds still harvested artisanally. Around 12:30 p.m. you’ll have time for an Andean buffet lunch (at the passenger’s expense). In the afternoon at 02:00 p.m., we visit the majestic Ollantaytambo fortress, a key Inca site and one of the few towns still inhabited since Inca times; after the guided tour, enjoy free time to wander its original streets, browse artisan markets, or relax. Overnight at your hotel in Ollantaytambo, right in the heart of the Sacred Valley.
After breakfast, depending on your entrance time, we pick you up from your hotel in Ollantaytambo and transfer you to the station to board the Vistadome Observatory train to Aguas Calientes. On arrival, staff assist you to the bus station for the ride up to Machu Picchu (approximately 25 minutes). Before entering, you’ll pass the required control, so it is essential to present your original passport and physical ticket. Inside the citadel (approx. 2,430 m / 7,972 ft), your guide provides an in-depth explanation of its history, architecture, and cultural meaning while walking the assigned circuit for about 2 hours, highlighting the most iconic sectors. After the guided visit, we return by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll have free time for lunch on your own; later, we board the return train to Ollantaytambo and then transfer you to your hotel in Cusco—an unforgettable day of wonder and heritage.
We pick you up between 07:30 a.m. and 08:00 a.m. to attend one of the most important cultural celebrations in the Andes: Inti Raymi, the ancient Festival of the Sun. The experience begins at Qoricancha, the former Temple of the Sun, where the first ceremony recreates Inca rituals honoring Inti. We then follow the procession to Cusco’s Main Square (Plaza de Armas), where the symbolic handover of the khipu represents knowledge, order and authority. Next, we continue to the impressive Sacsayhuamán fortress for the main ceremony with offerings to the Sun and Pachamama, enjoyed from the Orange VIP Section for excellent visibility and added comfort. After the show, we transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco, closing a day filled with living tradition and powerful symbolism.
We depart at 04:30 a.m. toward the southern valley, crossing Andean scenery and local towns until reaching Cusipata, where you’ll enjoy a comforting breakfast. We then continue to Ichupata, where our ATV base is located; after a short briefing and about 10 minutes of practice, we begin an exciting 1 hour 30 minute quad bike route through the stunning Red Valley, famous for its dramatic color tones that shift with light and mountain weather. At the end of the ride, we take an approximately 40-minute hike via the Red Valley viewpoint to reach the iconic Rainbow Mountain. Enjoy free time at the top for breathtaking views and photos, then descend, hop back on the ATVs and return to Cusipata for a local lunch. Finally, we head back to Cusco with an estimated arrival around 5:00 p.m., wrapping up a day of adventure and unforgettable landscapes.
At the scheduled time, our team escorts you to the airport for your return flight. You finish the journey having experienced Cusco and the Andes through a memorable combination of culture, adventure and extraordinary scenery.
