Day 1: Start the Trek from KM 82 to Wayllabamba

Begin your journey at KM 82, embarking on a relatively easy hike of about 12km. Pass through small villages, relishing the stunning Andes Mountain views. Visit the Llactapata archaeological site before settling at the Wayllabamba campsite to acclimate and bond with fellow trekkers.

Day 2: Trek from Wayllabamba to Pacaymayo

Rise early for an ascent to Warmiwañusca (Dead Woman’s Pass) at 4,215m, the most challenging day covering about 11km. Enjoy stunning Andes Mountain views and a sense of accomplishment. Descend to the Pacaymayo campsite, passing through beautiful cloud forests and Inca ruins.

Day 3: Trek from Pacaymayo to Wiñay Wayna

Commence the day with an early hike to the second-highest pass, Runkuracay (3,970m). Descend to the ruins of Sayacmarca and continue to the beautiful Phuyupatamarca ruins. After lunch, trek through the cloud forest to the final campsite at Wiñay Wayna, offering stunning mountain views and proximity to impressive ruins.

Day 4: Trek from Wiñay Wayna to Machu Picchu

Wake early to hike to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) for the first view of Machu Picchu. Descend to explore the iconic ruins, guided by insightful commentary. Take a bus to Machu Picchu Pueblo, where you’ll spend the night in a comfortable hotel.

Day 5: Explore Machu Picchu and Return to Cusco

Dedicate the final day to exploring the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu. Wander through intricate stone structures, absorbing the history. In the evening, take the train back to Cusco, concluding the unforgettable 5-day journey through the Andes Mountains and the Inca Empire.
