Itinerary
Enjoy an unforgettable day trip from Huaraz to Parón Lake (4,200 m), one of the most photogenic turquoise lagoons in Peru’s Cordillera Blanca, located inside Huascarán National Park. This tour blends high-Andean landscapes with local culture: you’ll travel through the Parón Valley surrounded by queñuales and ichu grass before reaching an intense-colored lake framed by powerful snowcapped peaks. If you’re up for it, you can do an optional hike of about 40 minutes to a viewpoint with spectacular panoramas of iconic mountains such as Artesonraju, Garcilaso Pyramid, Nevado Pisco, and Chacraraju. To finish the day with an authentic touch, the return includes a visit to Caraz, its main square, and traditional dairy factories.
We depart from Huaraz between 5:40 am and 6:10 am and drive toward Caraz, a gateway to some of the Callejón de Huaylas’ most impressive landscapes. From there, we take a detour onto an unpaved road and enter the Parón Valley, traveling through high-mountain scenery with native vegetation such as queñuales and ichu grass. Upon reaching Huascarán National Park, we complete the required payment and continue to Parón Lake (4,200 m), a striking body of water surrounded by a natural amphitheater of snowcapped peaks. You’ll then have the chance to do an optional uphill walk to the viewpoint (about 40 minutes, optional), where you can enjoy wide views of Artesonraju, Garcilaso Pyramid, Pisco, Chacraraju, and more—ideal for unforgettable photos. After taking in the scenery, we return to Caraz to visit the main square and its well-known traditional dairy factories. Finally, we head back to Huaraz, arriving at around 06:00 pm.
