Itinerary
Enjoy an unforgettable day on Peru’s southern coast, traveling from Lima to Paracas, the wildlife-rich Ballestas Islands, and the iconic Huacachina Oasis. Cruise across Paracas Bay to spot the mysterious Candelabra geoglyph and get close to incredible marine life such as sea lions, Humboldt penguins, and seabirds. You’ll also enjoy a tasting of traditional sweets, visit an artisan winery to learn about local wine and pisco production with a tasting included, and end the day surrounded by desert landscapes. For adrenaline seekers, there’s an optional chance to experience dune buggies and sandboarding on Huacachina’s dunes. A perfect full-day combination of nature, flavors, and adventure.
We depart Lima at 04:40 a. m. in tourist transport along the Pan-American Highway South, while the guide presents the tour and shares key information about the itinerary. Around 06:00 a. m. we make a short breakfast stop (at the traveler’s expense); a box breakfast is usually provided and you’ll also have time to buy artisan bread and drinks. We continue to Paracas and at 09:30 a. m. we begin the boat excursion to the Ballestas Islands, first viewing the famous Candelabra geoglyph and then the islands, known for their rich biodiversity including guano birds, sea lions, and Humboldt penguins. After returning to the bay, at 10:00 a. m. we enjoy a tasting of traditional sweets such as tejas and chocotejas. At 13:00 p. m. you’ll have free time for lunch and to enjoy local Ica cuisine (at your own expense). At 14:00 p. m. we visit an artisan winery to learn about wine and pisco production with a tasting included. Then at 15:00 p. m. we visit the Huacachina Oasis, and at 15:30 p. m. those who wish may take part in optional dune buggies and sandboarding. Finally, at 17:30 p. m. we begin the return to Lima after a full day of coastal scenery, desert landscapes, and unforgettable experiences.
