Overview of the 3-hour Arequipa Countryside Tour

Our Excursion to the countryside of Arequipa takes you to explore the wonderful rural life of the White City. This tour includes a visit to the Carmen Alto Viewpoint, where you will enjoy excellent views of the Arequipa valley. Our journey also takes us to the traditional neighborhood of Yanahuara and its interesting church built in the 18th century. In the countryside, we will also visit the Mansion of the Founder of Arequipa and its excellent art collection. Finally, we visit the Sabandia Mill, a huge stone crusher built in 1785.

Arequipa Countryside Tour: 3-Hour Itinerary

• Panoramic Bus: Departing from the tourist bus stop on Zela Street Block 03, we commence the journey on the Mirabus Panorámico. Here, our guide will welcome you, providing detailed explanations of all points on our itinerary. Enjoy the ride from the second floor of the bus for an exceptional view of Arequipa’s tourist attractions. You’ll have the option to disembark at the following locations:
• Yanahuara: In the district of Yanahuara, capture photos at the famous Yanahuara Portals with Misti Volcano in the background. Explore the district’s church and try the traditional queso helado, a unique dessert in Arequipa that you must taste.
• Carmen Alto Viewpoint: Next, we head to the Carmen Alto Viewpoint to appreciate the terraces of the district and the three surrounding volcanoes: Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu.
• Incalpaca: We then transfer to the Incalpaca Minizoo, where you can observe the four South American camelids (Llama, Alpaca, Vicuña, and Guanaco) for free.
• Founder’s Mansion: Our next stop is the Founder’s Mansion, a colonial house turned museum that houses historical relics of Arequipa. The entrance is optional but recommended for its historical richness.
• Sabandia Mill: Finally, we visit the Sabandia Mill, where the water mill is in full operation. Additionally, there’s a minizoo featuring a fighting bull named Terminator, whom you can gently pet. Entrance is optional. If you prefer to stay outside, you can enjoy optional activities such as horseback riding, ATV rides, ziplining, and tasting delicious traditional Arequipa cuisine.
